WW2 German Army Mountain Troops Officer’s Cap – Gebirgsjäger, Fully Badged, Named Maker A German Army (Heer) Mountain Troops Officer’s peaked cap, attributed to the elite Gebirgsjäger units of the Second World War. A good size visor cap approximately size 57, high saddle shape, mountain troops green waffenfarbe, very high quality material, no moth damage anywhere on the cap, fitted with a complete set of national eagle, mountain troops Edelweiss, and national cockade all matching in construction, standard officers cap cording, to the interior the cap has been fitted with a leather sweatband which is of a light tan colour. The remainder of interior beautifully lined in bronze silk, with an undamaged centre celluloid lozenge with a retailer or manufacturers name of SCHELLENBERG , SONDERKLASSE. which is embossed in silver under the celluloid lozenge. This example is fully badged, retaining its correct officer’s insignia, and presents in very good overall condition.  The cloth is clean with no moth, The cap reflects the distinctive style associated with mountain troops, combining both functionality and the refined appearance expected of an officer’s piece. The interior is maker marked, adding to its authenticity and collector appeal.
