Featuring our bestselling LeftField Mini quick-release Baseplate combined with the Universal Dovetail, the Advanced Kit forms the basis for all kinds of RED rigs. Designed and built to be the only cage you’ll ever need, the Advanced Kit is ready for whatever your call sheet calls for. Quick-Release Convenience With our LeftField Mini 15mm LWS Baseplate, you’ve got end-to-end quick-release for your camera. On the Baseplate itself, our patented Open•UP mechanism allows you to effortlessly lift off from any ARRI standard dovetail. With the stacked Riser, Receiver and Universal Dovetail on top, you can also quickly remove the camera from the baseplate for quick settings tweaks or packing up after wrap. Dovetail Design But why would you want a more complicated Baseplate? To make things simpler in the long run, we’ve made it so that you can quickly release the camera from the baseplate. For bigger rigs, this means packing down is quicker and easier, and smaller rigs can hop seamlessly onto gimbals, tripods or shoulder rigs. Even when your call sheet is cutting it close or the director decides to go handheld on the oner, your RED rig will be ready. Breathing Room Though the Left and Right Side Plates may look overly-bulky at first, look a little closer. The double-sided screw threads with anti-twist locating pins mean you can rig accessories to the inside or outside – meaning you can hide messy cables from the BTS Photographer. For cleaner rigs, the Side Plates offer smoother airflow, so your rig doesn’t run hot as you run-and-gun. Adaptor-Friendly A huge draw of the RED ecosystem is not being tied into one lens mount – especially now that Nikon’s Z-Mount has joined the family. If you want to try out new primes without damaging your lens mount, the Side Plates and Top Rail feature dedicated mounts for different Lens Adaptor Supports – including our own range and RED’s native Adaptors. Top Performance The included Top NATO Rail is a great low-profile addition to your Use the selection of 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist threads for bolt-on accessories, and the integrated NATO rail and QD sockets make for quick setups. It’s also the essential mounting point for the NATO Top Handle: which gives you an adjustable and comfortable grip on top of the KOMODO without blocking the display.
