Instructions/Assembly The Sony VENICE 1 & 2 Expert Cine Kit Mk II comes with all required components and screws. You will require your own flathead screwdriver as well as a 3mm and 4mm Hex Key in order to install it. BUD Plate to Camera 1. Align the screws of the Universal BUD Plate with the 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads on the base of the VENICE. The locking lever should be facing the camera-right (aka AC) side on the camera. 2. Use a flathead screwdriver to attach the BUD plate to the camera. Top Plate Core to Camera 1. Align the four 1/4″ mounting points on the Top Plate with the threads on the VENICE body – the locking lever should be on the camera-left side. 2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to secure the core to the camera. Dovetail to Top Plate 1. Slide the Dovetail plate in from the rear of the camera. 2. When positioned, tighten the clamp to secure the dovetail in position. Front Rod Console to Top Plate 1. Align the Rod Console up or down on the front screws. 2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to attach the Front Rod console to the corresponding threads on the Top Plate. Right Side Plate to Cage 1. Align the Right Side Plate with the screw threads on the right side of the Top Plate and BUD Plate – the ARRI rosette should be towards the bottom, and the Side Plate should sit towards the front of both plates. 2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the two M4 screws on the base into the BUD Plate, and a 4mm Hex Key to screw the one 1/4″ screw into the Top Plate. Left Side Plate to Cage 1. Align the Left Side Plate with the screw threads on the left side of the Top Plate and BUD Plate – the ARRI rosette should be towards the bottom, and the Side Plate should sit towards the front of both plates. 2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the two M4 screws on the base into the BUD Plate, and a 4mm Hex Key to screw the one 1/4″ screw into the Top Plate. Top Handle to Top Plate 1. Align the two captive 3/8” screws with the central line of captive screw threads on the Sliding Top Plate. 2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to attach the handle to the plate. Adaptor to 19mm Studio Bridgeplate 1. Align the 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads with the screws in the 19mm Studio Bridgeplate. 2. Use a 3mm and 4mm Hex Key to screw the Adaptor Plate into place. 15mm Baseplate to Adaptor 1. Slide or lower the 15mm Baseplate onto the Adaptor dovetail. 2. Lock the Baseplate in place with the side clamp. Adaptor to Axl 1. Lower the quick-release rail into the Axl EVF Mount’s clamp. 2. Use the orange screw to tighten the clamp and secure your EVF in place. Axl to Rods 1. Insert the Axl EVF Mount onto the 15mm rods. 2. Use the single locking mechanism to secure the EVF in place. EVF to Adaptor 1. Remove the Sony VENICE EVF from the stock mount. 2. Slide the Axl EVF Adaptor onto the Sony viewfinder.
